Q. What accommodations are available for parents and visitors on campus?
A. University Housing offers guest apartments for visiting relatives or guests. Additionally there are a number of local hotels available. For more information visit our Guest Accommodations Web page.
Q. How much do the residence halls cost?
A. Room and board fees can be found on our Residence Hall page and the The Towers Residential Suites page.
Q. Can the residence hall payments be spread out or paid in monthly installments?
A. Payment of the room and board fees are due in two equal installments on the first day of classes each semester.
Q. How does the meal plan work? Are there other food options?
A. A mandatory 19-meal meal plan is included in the room and board fees. Residents dine in the Warrior Dining cafeteria on the first floor of North Residence Hall. In addition, there are a number of fast food restaurants available in the Student Center Building and around campus. For a complete list of dining options in and around campus visit our Dining Web page. Please note, those options are not included in the cost of the meal plan.
Q. What items should my son or daughter bring?
A. Students must provide their own bedding, towels and toiletries. Students may bring their own carpet when they move in. Students are also permitted to bring in portable refridgerators, CD players, televisions, tape decks, radios, VCRs or DVD players, fans and computers.
Q. What furnishings are included in the residence hall rooms?
A. The residence halls are furnished with two twin beds, two desks and chairs and two armoires. The beds can be bunked or lofted through the use of university-provided parts. The sheet size for the mattresses are twin extra long.
Q. What safety and security features are in place for students living on campus?
A. The student living areas in the residence halls are locked 24 hours a day and has a card access system for entry into the building. Students must use their WSU OneCard to enter the building. Guests or visitors must sign in at the front desk and be escorted by a resident before being allowed access to the living areas. The front desk staff is on duty 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Q. Do you offer theme floor housing?
A. The residence halls offer supportive, academically-based living/learning communities that will explore academic programs and related topics of interest.
Q. When is move in and move out scheduled for the residence halls?
A. There are two dates for move in; one for all new hall residents and one for returning hall residents. Please check the calendar for exact dates. All residents must move out of the residence halls no later than the last day of the winter semester.
Q. Are there employment opportunities on campus for my son or daughter?
A. There are many opportunities for students to work on campus, including positions within Housing and Residential Life. To apply for possible positions in Housing and Residential Life click here. Information on other campus jobs is available at the Office of Career Planning and Placement Web site.
Q. How do I send a care package from home?
A.

You have options concerning care packages for your child. You may use a service provided by AVI Food Systems or Student Advantage. A more detailed mailing will be sent out to each student's home address prior to the start of the year concerning these services.
