How to sign up
Living on campus offers a supportive environment to help you excel academically, socially, and personally. Enjoy convenient access to classes, libraries, dining, and campus resources while staying connected to campus life. On-campus living also creates a strong sense of community, making it easy to form lasting friendships and connections.
Before signing up for campus housing
- To live on campus, you must be admitted to Wayne State University. Visit the university's admissions page to submit an application.
- Verify your WSU email account
The official communication method with students and staff is your Wayne State University email account. In order to be updated about the important university and housing information, ensure that you set up and check this email account daily.

Review Housing License Agreement Terms
When you apply for housing, you are signing a legally binding agreement with Wayne State University. It is important that you review all the information, dates, deadlines, and policies outlined in the license agreement you sign.- Under 18 Students: If a student signs the housing license agreement (HLA) terms while still under the age of 18, the student's listed parent/guardian will also need to review, agree to, and sign the license agreement. A housing license agreement is not complete until the student's parent/guardian completes their portion.

Review different housing options and costs
There are a variety of different types of housing that a student can choose from depending upon their class standing, age, and housing needs. It is important that a student reviews the different rates related to each housing location and room type. There are a variety of cost options for students to choose from. Costs are listed for the academic year (August-May) and by semester. All housing and dining costs are billed by semester.-
First- year students currently in high school or their highest earned degree is a high school diploma/GED can choose from Chatsworth Suites, Ghafari Hall and for our creative Warriors, The Thompson.

Transfer students who began their undergraduate studies at another institution can choose from Towers Residential Suites, Anthony Wayne Drive Apartments and for our creative Warriors, The Thompson.

Graduate students who have earned an undergraduate degree, such as a bachelor’s, and are pursuing an advanced degree can choose from Anthony Wayne Drive Apartments and University Towers for graduate family housing.

- Review Meal Plan options
Depending upon a student's class standing and housing location in which they select to live, different meal plans may be required. There are a variety of options to meet student's dining needs.
- Review Living Learning Community options
Living Learning Communities provide students a unique opportunity to connect with academic staff both in the classroom and with their housing community. Some communities are restricted to students within specific colleges.
Ready to sign up for housing?
In order to complete the housing agreement, a $125 non-refundable processing fee payment is required. After payment is made, the student will receive an email receipt confirmation to their Wayne State email account. Continue to the Housing Self-Service Portal to complete and sign the housing agreement.
*Room selection is determined by availability and your HLA completion date. An email will be sent to your WSU account with details on the room selection process.
